5Nice Back Support for a Travel Stool
By Joni H.
I e-mailed Powderfin before ordering this to make sure it had a strap to carry it without a bag. They responded promptly that it did. Needed to use it at a golf tournament where they didn’t allow folding chairs with bags. I especially liked the support of the back on the stool–it was a life-saver for my back and legs with all the hills we had to climb, and was very light to carry for two days.

2Other better chairs are readily available, save your money!
By J. Tarr
I bought this chair to replace a camp stool I have because I wanted some back support. I chose this one vice the one at REI because this one was cheaper and it was easier to get it mailed than making my way to REI.

It got here and I opened it up and sat in it and immediately told my wife we were going to REI. This chair is unstable and the back rest doesn’t open wide enough to be really comfortable.

We went to REI and I bought the GCI Outdoor Quik-E-Seat, Item # 767165 for $29.00 plus tax. Granted that it was more expensive than this Amazon one (don’t get the REI camp stool for $24.50, it’s just as bad as this one! Spend the extra few bucks on the Quik-E-Seat, you’ll be glad you did!)

So, the Quik-E-Seat has a carry handle of sorts (a strap) which this one doesn’t. It has a better support system, it’s lighter, and folds easier and smaller than this one. So, if you can get to REI, go. If not, then order the Quik-E-Seat online. And no, I do not work for REI, I’m in the military and I spend a lot of time in the field and a good, portable, supportive chair is worth it’s weight.

Cheers!

P.S. – I did a search for the Quik-E-Seat on Amazon and it is available from an external website for a reasonable price in comparison to REI.

5worth taking up the mountain
By Steph Plum
Took this on a scout backpacking trip that lasted a week and went up to pretty high (11,000 ft) elevations. It added some weight to my pack, but was totally worth it when i had a comfy place to sit my old, tired body all week. The backrest fit my small frame (I’m 5’3″) but my bigger sons used it and didn’t complain. I would definitely recommend it to others.
